Recently, I did a self-portrait photoshoot with two of my sons, and it was an amazing experience that I want to share with you. We set it up in my dining room that I cleared out to create a makeshift studio space. My mom was kind enough to lend a hand, and we were able to sneak in the photoshoot while my "little middle" was napping.
It was intimidating getting in front of the camera, and I found myself picking myself apart while editing the photos. But then I realized that these photos captured a moment in time, and that in 10 years, I would look back and wish I still looked this way. I felt most comfortable in the photos I took with my kids, and I'm thrilled with the final outcome. I've already ordered prints, and I can't wait to share them with my clients.
During the editing process, I also learned that it's important to accept and embrace our imperfections, such as smile lines, crows feet, and postpartum belly. These are part of who we are and our story.
If you're considering a self-portrait photoshoot, I highly recommend it. It's a chance to create special memories with your loved ones and capture a moment in time. Don't let intimidation hold you back. You might be surprised by the outcome.
Thanks for reading, and I hope this blog post inspires you to create beautiful memories with your family.
